2026 Carswell Forum - Meanjin Brisbane

Brisbane Pride Incorporated, with the support of the Queensland LGBTQIA+ Alliance, is pleased to announce the 2026 Carswell Forum, to be held on Friday, 30 October 2026.

The Forum honours the late Phil Carswell OAM (1953–2024), a pioneering activist who made a significant contribution to advancing the rights, health and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ people in Australia.

Bringing together governments, community organisations, industry and allies, the Forum will highlight the leadership, specialist expertise and lived experience of Queensland LGBTQIA+ Alliance member services. It will showcase Queensland-led projects and services supporting LGBTQIA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities across metropolitan, rural, regional and remote areas.

Building on Phil Carswell’s legacy, the Forum will strengthen collaboration and support policy, investment and service responses informed by Queensland LGBTQIA+ communities and the organisations that serve them.

We encourage representatives from government, industry and the community-controlled sector to attend, engage and connect with Queensland’s LGBTQIA+ sector leaders.
