About Us
The Queensland LGBTQIA+ Alliance is the peak alliance committed to building a healthier, more just, and more connected future for LGBTQIA+ people across the state.
We are a coalition of Queensland LGBTQIA+ organisations — big and small, regional and urban, grassroots and specialist — who have come together not just to be heard, but to lead reform together.
Guided by First Nations leadership, LGBTQIA+ peer wisdom, and lived experience, the Alliance serves as a trusted voice, a collaborative home, and a platform to progress meaningful change across generations of LGBTQIA+ Queenslanders.
We know that promising practice solutions come from the people living the realities. That’s why we prioritise community expertise at every level — not as a checkbox, but as the foundation of everything we do.

We facilitate inclusive policy, research and advocacy initiatives to elevate the priorities, voices and leadership of LGBTQIA+ Queenslanders, including underrepresented groups such as First Nations, Transgender and Gender-Diverse peoples, Intersex peoples, people living with disabilities and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people.
We invest in regional, rural, and remote community capacity across the state to ensure that all LGBTQIA+ people, families, and their children, regardless of their geographical location, have access to safe, inclusive, culturally secure, and affirming support, representation, rights, and opportunities.
We exist to empower, elevate, and amplify the work of LGBTQIA+ services, groups, and individuals across our sunny state, while also pushing for whole-of-government systems-level change and reform that our people need and deserve.

Our work is guided by a simple but powerful cohesive strategy: Unite. Engage. Thrive.
• We Unite to strengthen connections across the sector, build trust, and create a shared voice that reflects the diversity of our communities.
• We Engage lived experience, and the local leadership of those often left out, ensuring that decision-making is community-owned and culturally secure.
• And we Thrive by investing in the wellbeing, capability, sustainability, and leadership of LGBTQIA+ people and organisations within Queensland.

For community, we are a space to be seen and supported.
For government, we are a direct line to insight, genuine partnerships, and innovation.
For allies, we are an invitation: to stand with us, grow with us, and help build something lasting.
Funded by the Queensland Government, the Queensland LGBTQIA+ Alliance delivers peak body services for LGBTQIA+ Queenslanders of all ages. Joining the Alliance means being part of something bigger — something vibrant, vital, and deeply connected to the Queensland communities it represents.
Together, we’re not just reacting to the world as it is. We’re helping shape the world as it should be.
